A quick post in between
Dear readers, it has been a while since I wrote my last blog post. Too long ago, actually. I started my blog by writing a post twice a week. A few months later, I got temporary work, and it turned out that writing two posts a week was a bit too much. So I went to once a week and I kept that up for a long time. After having written almost 100 blog posts, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to come up with interesting topics :). That’s why I only posted once every 10 to 14 days for the past few months. That went well until a few weeks ago, my server suddenly went down after a power failure and I couldn’t get it to work anymore. Our son Larsen set that server up and arranged everything at the time, so Bine couldn’t do anything. And Larsen was in Ljubljana, so I had to wait for him to come home. All in all, the server was down for a week and I couldn’t post anything.
Then I turned fifty and according to my dearest husband, children and parents, that had to be celebrated in a big way. Well, they had certainly turned it into quite an event! The day itself I was put in the spotlight and spoiled rotten with decorations, breakfast in bed, presents, flowers, cards, a nice dinner cooked by my children, homemade cakes (plural yes!), congratulations on FB, and so on. That was on Wednesday the 16th.
According to village tradition, a maypole (Mlaj) is placed the day before a round birthday, but Bine had arranged that they came to do this on Friday so that we could also make a party of it. I didn’t know anything about it. Bine had arranged everything himself, such as the food and drinks. Everything had been thought of, and before I knew it our terrace was full of tables, drinks, cakes, and so on, and a little later almost the entire village was here. It was a lot of fun, especially because I didn’t have to lift a finger ;).
On Saturday evening we went out for dinner with our family and my parents and on Sunday my stepdaughter came by with her family, and later we went to the zoo in Ljubljana with them.
In the meantime, I have also found a job for 4 hours a day and I have been »busy« with that since March 1st. Fortunately, it’s work from home and I like it very much, but it does take some adjustment and I have to organize my time differently than when I had no work.
I also received a very wonderful present for my birthday, namely a 5-day trip to Malta with my hunnybunny Bine! And that’s where we’re going tomorrow. That’s why I really thought it’s necessary to take an hour now to write a blog post anyway because otherwise there would pass too much time since the last one. I hope you’re happy I did ;).
So I’m going to quickly pack our bags, and then we’ll be all set :D. I wish everyone a very nice weekend and enjoy the sun because next week there will be a little colder weather, and even snow, on the way :(. Until the next blog post!
