Number 50!

Number 50!

Wow, this will be my 50th blog post! I started this blog in mid-May and suddenly I’m already at number 50. I still really enjoy doing it, especially because of the many nice reactions I get from you, my readers :). No less than 60 of you have even become followers by registering with their email address on my blog. Thank you for that! I hereby invite anyone who has not yet done this to do so. You will never miss a new post ;).

It makes me genuinely happy that people love to read my posts and that I can even help some of you with the information I’m trying to put in them. It is also nice to see that there are so many people out there who love Slovenia just as much as I do. And not only do you sometimes learn something from my posts, but I also learn from you through the reactions I get on certain topics. Things that I myself did not know yet and that you point out to me. Thank you for that!

By the way, it is not always easy to come up with a topic that (hopefully) could be of interest to you and that I know enough about to devote a post on. So if you have any ideas or questions about certain topics that you are curious about or would like to know more about, please let me know. I’ll try to write a piece about it :).

The writing itself remains super fun. I’ve always liked to do that. Once I’ve come up with a topic and start writing, the words flow naturally into my head and I type a new piece in a few minutes. My great wish is to write a book about my life one day. Not that I have experienced so many interesting things, but I think it could be a good book because it hasn’t been exactly boring either ;). I’ve even started on it several times already, but I find it difficult because my thoughts always go much faster than I can type once I start writing. My father once advised me to buy a voice recorder so that I can record those thoughts and then type them out later. That sounds like a good idea, but somehow I haven’t gotten around to trying it out yet.

I also enjoy taking pictures. Unfortunately, I don’t have a camera so I have to do it with my phone, but I regularly manage to take nice pictures of the beautiful nature here.

For my blog, I also often use photos that have been taken some time ago, sometimes from many years ago, as you have seen. I have also taken pictures of »real« pictures a few times, pictures from before the digital age :). That is why the quality with those pictures leaves something to be desired but with certain subjects, those old photos just had to be part of it. It’s a nice job to search through all those old photos by the way. There are always many beautiful memories that bring a smile to my face. Or sometimes a tear, when seeing a photo of my dear grandparents who are no longer with us or of a deceased dog or cat. Fortunately, I have those photos so that I can look back at them every now and then. You sometimes hear stories of a house that burned down and where all the photos were lost. That must be really awful!

So my tip today is: cherish your memories and check those photos regularly to recall that (pleasant) feeling. Sometimes you just have to take a moment to stop and enjoy everything you have and what you have seen and experienced in your life. Life goes by so fast and we “need” and want more and more. Not a good development if you ask me. Enjoy the moment folks! Thank you again for your interest and nice and sweet reactions. Do keep reading :). Lots of love!
